Dark Rages Previews: What Should Not Be and “Torero Ocho”!

Hell Nightfall fans! Last week, you saw a glimpse into the fiction for Nightfall: Dark Rages. In it we see Jarek, a character introduced in Nightfall: The Coldest War, and a new character – Torero Ocho. Both of these guys had fantastic art, and now you get to see the awesome cards they represent in this weeks card previews!

First we have the card representing Jarek from last week – What Should Not Be. Jarek is a Frankenstein monster, representing a combination of several different pieces used to build him. This card gives you the power to create your own Frankenstein monsters in the world of Nightfall; you select two of your Minions, and combine them into a stronger, more powerful super-minion that combines their health, strength, and any card text they have. Can you imagine the possibilities you could create? Now every Minion in the Nightfall universe has greater potential by being combined with another. The possibilities are numerous, and should serve to change your games with Dark Rages each and every time you play.

Then we have Torero Ocho – from the fiction we see that “Torero Ocho” is working with the Church, and that things are not going well for the Hunters in the world of Nightfall. The battles raging in Italy are uphill, and “Torero Ocho” is leading a small band of men against an army of ghouls; however, he returns to the fray to lead his men to victory – at least we hope that is the case. Ocho is presented in Dark Rages by a Hunter card that reflects the brave and heroic leadership role that he finds himself in. He is healthier than he is strong, but his real strength lies in the support he can offer you and the Hunters who seek to defeat the Ghouls that have infested the world of Nightfall. The ability to draw a card in Combat, as well as returning other Hunters from your discard pile to play makes him a very strong card if you find yourself constantly having your Minions defeated. His kicker, though possibly difficult to pull off, is a strong effect to keep cards like Ghouls or other tough Minions from returning to play. For anyone who enjoys playing the Hunters in Nightfall, “Torero Ocho” is sure to become one of your favorite cards!

Check back later this week for a look an article on interaction with the Nightfall game and more exclusive art teasers!
